The 2017-18 Regional Performance Centre programme opened on 15 October in Bristol. Eight RPC staff members, including two National Team coaches and led by Head Coaches Luke Kemish and Adam Cole, put the 50 players through their paces. The new format, with a shorter day but more intense sessions on court, was well received.
As always, the focus was on individual player development, this time emphasising footwork and dribbling skills. The players left with some detailed “homework” to include in their personal training time. They also had an intensive session on Landing Mechanics, supported by a video to use at home. Parents present heard about the details of the year’s programme and its place in the Performance Pathway, the expectations and how they can encourage and support their children.
